Feature Spotlight: Digital Gateway now supports lab-specific product mapping, giving multi-lab organizations more precise control over how incoming digital cases are matched to products.

If your organization receives digital cases for multiple labs, assigning the right product has not always been straightforward. With this enhancement, you can now configure product mapping by lab so incoming cases are routed with the correct product based on the lab assignment.

What’s new

Digital Gateway now supports two distinct product mapping methods, allowing teams to choose the setup that best fits their workflow.

Standard Hub Mapping

This is the existing behavior. Products are mapped at the Hub level using Product Maintenance settings, and incoming cases automatically receive the mapped product.

Product by Lab Mapping New

This new option enables client-side, lab-specific product mapping. Each lab can maintain its own mapping so that when a case is assigned to a lab, the corresponding product is applied automatically.

This feature is especially valuable for organizations managing multiple labs under one environment.

How it works

1.Set up lab-specific products in the API Product tab within Product Maintenance.

2.Open Lab Settings for the lab that should use this behavior.

3.Enable the Product by Lab checkbox.

4.Configure the Digital Gateway settings for that lab.

5.When a case is received, the system applies the mapped product based on the assigned lab.

Important behavior

Please note: Standard Hub Mapping and Product by Lab Mapping are mutually exclusive for a given scanner workflow. Teams should use the option that best matches their operational model.

Existing Hub-based mapping continues to work as it does today

No changes are required unless your team wants to enable lab-specific mapping

The mapping mode is controlled through Digital Gateway scanner configuration
